Box options
You can quickly customize the appearance and orientation of boxes in the Org Chart directly in the chart definition.
These options let you change the box orientation and apply styles to individual boxes without opening the wizard, so you can quickly experiment with the layout and look and feel.
Specific box orientation
You can combine horizontal and stacked orientations within the same chart to better match your organizational structure.
To do this:
Open the page in edit mode.
If the Top to bottom compact layout is selected, a gear icon appears in the top-right corner of each box.
Click it to select the orientation.
The selected orientation applies to the current box and all boxes below it. If the chart has another nesting level, set the orientation for that level separately.
Note
This option is available only in the Top to bottom compact layout.
Changing these settings will affect all users who use the layout.
A stacked orientation can be placed under a horizontal one, but a horizontal orientation can only be placed under another horizontal orientation.
Individual box formatting
You can apply custom styles to a specific box to highlight it, and then apply them to others with the same department, job title or box type.
To do this:
Edit the Org Chart page and click the settings wheel in the selected box.
Then click Style to modify it.
This works the same way as Box style rules defined in the configuration wizard.
The Apply button has a context menu with shortcuts for creating a rule based on the current style. You can create your own custom rule or a rule based on a pre-defined condition by:
job title,
department,
box type.
Legend modes
The legend shows the style rules applied to boxes in the chart. There are two modes:
Full (default) - shows all style rules with their labels (color + meaning),
Compact - shows only color indicators for rules currently used in the chart.
Click the arrow below the legend to switch between modes:
