Create a new process
A Process is the main way to generate documents in Plumsail Documents. It connects your templates, data, and delivery into a single workflow.
Watch the getting started video series or continue with the step-by-step guide below.
Start by signing in to your Plumsail Account. If you don’t have an account yet, sign up and select a data center location.
Add process
Next, navigate to Processes and click on Add process:
A side panel will open:
You can choose to start from one of our premade document templates. Then, adjust it to your business and personal requirements:
Or start from a blank document. You’ll be asked to select one of the template types:
DOCX (Word)
XLSX (Excel)
PPTX (PowerPoint)
PDF (Fillable forms)
HTML
Select the output type at this step. You can change it later in the template settings.
Click on the Create button to continue.
Note
By default, the Modern engine is used for all new processes. If you need Classic syntax, you can switch engines in the template settings.
Add templates
Each process can contain multiple templates. Together they form a Document set, generated in a single process run. In addition to the template you selected when creating the process, you can add more at any time.
Click Add template and choose one of the available options:
Use one of our premade templates.
Start from a blank template.
Upload your own template file.
Templates are processed independently, so they don’t need to use the same format or engine. You can mix file formats (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, or HTML) within one process.
At any point, templates can be added, removed, and reordered to suit your document generation workflow.
Once you’ve added your templates, you’re ready to configure them and test your process.
