Order Form with Dynamic Discount
Streamline customer ordering with a dynamic form that looks up members, fills saved billing details, and applies personal coupon discounts. Customers add products to a structured order table while line amounts, quantity totals, volume discounts, payment fees, and the final order total are calculated automatically. Pricing and payment terms remain available in a compact Accordion beside the three-step order Wizard. Customize the product and client data sources to fit your sales process.
This template is inspired by a customer story from Studio Source Yearbooks, which uses Plumsail Forms with Airtable to collect customer orders, adjust available options based on selections, and calculate pricing before saving the order data.
Structure and logic of the form
-
The form uses an Accordion container and a three-step Wizard. Customers can review volume-pricing and payment information without leaving the ordering process.
-
When customers confirm that they have a membership card, the email lookup and Look Me Up button appear. The lookup searches an Excel data source, fills in customer and billing details, retrieves a personal coupon code, and displays the member discount.
-
Products are selected in a Data Table control. Product options and unit prices come from Excel, unit prices are read-only, and each row amount is calculated from the price and quantity. Table aggregates calculate the total quantity and the subtotal.
-
The discount combines a customer or coupon discount with an automatic volume discount. This is done with a JavaScript function.
-
The Apply Discount button is disabled until a coupon code is entered. This is configured with a conditional rule in the Disable property.
-
A 5% processing fee is calculated for credit-card payments. The fee field remains hidden for ACH and check payments through a conditional rule in the Hide property, and the final order total is calculated automatically.
