4. Your Privacy Choices

When you first visit Plumsail websites, a cookie banner is displayed. What you see depends on your location. Analytics and Marketing cookies load by default. The banner shows an OK button to acknowledge this notice and a Cookie Settings button to manage your preferences. Clicking OK is an acknowledgment of the notice, not consent. You can opt out at any time through the Your Privacy Choices link in the website footer, or your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honor automatically. Your preferences are saved in the CookieConsent cookie for one year.

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, or Canada Strictly necessary cookies load immediately. All other cookies are blocked until you make an active choice. The banner presents three options at equal prominence: Reject All, Cookie Settings, and Accept All. Your preferences are saved in the CookieConsent cookie for one year. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking Your Privacy Choices in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.

If you have a Plumsail account Signed-in users can manage privacy preferences under Account > Privacy Settings at account.plumsail.com.

Browser controls: You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera all provide this under Settings > Privacy). Note that blocking all cookies will disable some site functionality.

5. US Residents: Opt-Out Rights

We do not sell personal information. We do use Google Ads, FirstPromoter, and similar tools to measure marketing performance and attribute referrals. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar laws including the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), and other US states, this use of cookies qualifies as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands.

Where applicable, residents of the US States (mentioned above) may opt out of this sharing using either of the following choices:

  • Your Privacy Choices: The Your Privacy Choices link in our website footer opens a settings panel where you can turn off Marketing and Analytics cookies. Takes effect immediately.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser sends a GPC signal, we honor it automatically as a valid opt-out request. No further action needed on your part.

These mechanisms satisfy the opt-out requirements under CCPA/CPRA and the universal opt-out provisions of Colorado, Connecticut, and other applicable state laws.

6. EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Canada, we are required to obtain your consent before placing any cookie that is not strictly necessary. Our cookie banner handles this: strictly necessary cookies load on arrival; all other categories require your explicit opt-in.

For Swiss residents, this consent mechanism satisfies the requirements of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

For Quebec residents, this consent mechanism also satisfies the requirements of Quebec Law 25. The cookie inventory in Section 3 discloses the purpose of each cookie, the categories of third parties who receive data, and the applicable retention periods.

Where cookies transfer personal data outside your region, those transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws. Full details of the transfer mechanisms we rely on for each provider are set out in our Privacy Policy.

7. Contact and Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this Policy. Where appropriate, we will notify you of changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
