Automate paperwork in the enhanced Plumsail Documents feature — Processes are generally available

It’s been two months since we presented a new Plumsail Documents feature — Processes. A handy interface for creating documents from templates, converting, and delivering them in a few simple steps.

Our team has done a truckload of work during this time to enhance the Processes and pass the Beta stage.

A brief look at the Processes

The Processes support a variety of template formats — DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, HTML, and fillable PDF.

The interface is pretty much self-explanatory. A process has a few steps inside.

Go through each step to configure the Process to meet your needs. You can check the documentation where all the steps are described in detail.

Microsoft Power Automate and Zapier

All document generation processes that you create can be triggered by Microsoft Power Automate. If you use Plumsail Documents in your flows you can easily switch to Processes and replace a few actions by a single process execution.

Zapier integration is on the way. We are finalizing it right now. It will become available in a couple of weeks.

Runs history added

We added runs history to Processes. Every time you run the Process to generate and deliver documents, this information is recorded and stored in runs history.

There you will find:

  • the time the Process was started,
  • its duration,
  • and the result status — succeeded or failed.

It’s especially helpful in case the process has failed. You will see the step where and why it happened. So that you should have no difficulty in resolving the issue.

Beta is passed — we charge for executions now

It is time to announce that the Beta stage is passed. The feature is generally available now. And all the Processes users will be charged for executions.

Two remarkable points about it:

  1. It’s possible to test the process in a Testing mode before using it. You won’t be charged for runs. But result documents will have a Plumsail watermark.
  2. Save your money 💰. With the Processes, you can complete a series of actions but will be charged just for one document credit.
