Installation for SharePoint 2019
The installation process consists of two parts:
- Install services – web part will pull data from them.
- Install SharePoint Framework add-in – it is a web part itself.
Firstly, download setup file and web part add-in as a zip archive file. Extract them somewhere to your local PC. You will need them later.
Note: You have to be a Farm Administrator to complete the installation.
Run setup file on one of the servers in your SharePoint 2019 farm as a Farm Administrator. Follow the wizard steps.
Install add-in to App Catalog
Run SharePoint 2019 Central Administration as administrator on your server.
Navigate to Apps -> Manage App Catalog
If you don’t have App Catalog yet, you will be able to create a new one:
Just fill in ‘Title’, ‘Web Site Address’, ‘Primary Site Collection Administrator’ and click ‘OK’. For example:
- Title – App Catalog Site
- Web Site address – AppCatalog
- Primary Site Collection Administrator – Fill in your account name
Navigate to ‘Apps for SharePoint’ and upload Add-in package that you downloaded at the beginning of this instruction:
You need to select “Make this solution available to all sites in the organization” in the dialog. Once you did this you can add a web part to a page.
If you don’t want to make this app availalbe on all sites, you will need to add app to each site manually.
