Termed employees

Normally to remove a terminated employee from the organizational chart, all I need to do is remove the manager from the exchange properties in Office 365. Sometimes this does not work and the employee is still showing up in the org chart. How do I remove them without completely deleting their account? We have to keep these accounts and keep them hidden in office 365 for 5 years.

The issue was related to synchronization of Exchange properties with SharePoint user profiles.

The problem has been resolved by removing Manager property values from SharePoint user profiles.

When confronted with similar problem, you should navigate to Office 365 Admin Center, then Navigate to SharePoint Admin center:

Then navigate to User Profiles -> Manage User Profiles:

And remove Manager property value for a given employee:
